Summer is over...

Winter is well and truly here, and counting down the days until Christmas! But on this very chilly evening, it's nice to look back and remember some excellent moments since the last update!

I finally got to visit Diagon Alley for my birthday! That is a look of pure joy!

Exploring a sculpture garden in Woolacombe, Devon!

Climbing the O2 and looking stylish....steeper than it looks!

Just after Jimmy dragged me up the hill at the end of the Fleet 10K run.....and this was after a little rest after finishing in second place!

Looking forward to some Christmassy adventures coming up soon!

Day 2

Today has been harder - sugar and comfort food cravings and alone this evening I'm getting that bored and want to snack feeling.

Had 1 biscuit, but did snack on some sugary cereal I had leftover - I think its needs to go. But did start to feel aware of the difference eating that than to the almonds.

Very full this evening however. Had a bit of a bloated feeling yesterday and tummy feeling a little unhappy today.

Overall though, not too bad. Valentines day (we're celebrating early) may be tricky, thinking of trying a sugar free desert recipe.

Going sugar free!

Having looked at my last post - from along time ago - this one is rather different.

I'm attempting to go sugar free, or as much as I can, and the advice I've read is that journalling or documenting it can be really helpful.

I've come to realise I'm really very dependent, and pretty much hooked, on sugar. Having to go a day without getting a sweet treat often makes me feel sad or like it's going to be a hard day. So I've been reading up and bought Sarah Wilson's 'I quit sugar'.

I've been putting it off for a couple of weeks, but thought I'd make a start on Week One - cutting down today. I've had a couple of ginger biscuits and a lowfat chocolate mousse for desert - but they way I've been going lately that's definitely cutting down!

Almonds were a good snack to get me through the day, and cashew butter on toast for breakfast was very fulfilling. I did have fruit as well - which gets cut out eventually in week three, thats going to be tricky!

So far feeling fine, but anticipating the sugar lows soon enough!
